\"Raindrops\"<\/a><\/p>\n

While I write this, it is raining.<\/p>\n

Not a hard rain.<\/p>\n

Not a stormy rain.<\/p>\n

Just water dripping, dropping, splatting from the sky.<\/p>\n

I like a good rain.<\/p>\n

I like storms, too.\u00a0 A good rainstorm, thunderstorm or snowstorm makes me feel good.\u00a0 Judging by the fact that most people I know do NOT share this feeling, I am left to assume that my internal barometer was installed upside down and backwards.\u00a0 But whatever the reason, a rainy day puts me in an “up” kind of mood.<\/p>\n

Right now for example I have the patio door open and I can hear the water hitting objects.\u00a0 There’s almost no traffic.\u00a0 The temperature is just right.\u00a0 And there’s a slight movement of air through the door.<\/p>\n

Rainy days put me in a creative mood.\u00a0 Today I could write a bestseller, build an awe-inspiring bookcase or throw a most incredible pot.\u00a0 Rain raises my spirit.\u00a0 I think it’s a reminder that God and nature are in control.\u00a0 It is nature replenishing the earth and cleaning off of the dust of everyday life.<\/p>\n

Snowfall has a similar effect on me.\u00a0 Everything gets a fresh, white covering.\u00a0 Made clean and brand-new.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t matter if you are man or beast, tree or brick, you get the same treatment.\u00a0 Equality like none other.<\/p>\n

I also like the fragrance that rain puts into the air.\u00a0 No matter where in the world I’ve been, rain tickles the same buttons in my nose.\u00a0 And they are good buttons indeed.<\/p>\n

During a rain like this my day-to-day concerns and preoccupations seem lessened in their importance.\u00a0 They’re still there, but the rain is a good drug that moves them to the side and helps me to see around them and ponder the goodness in life.\u00a0 And there’s plenty of it.\u00a0 There is plenty of badness, I’m not arguing against that, but there is goodness, too.<\/p>\n

The non-human creatures out there seem to approve as well.\u00a0 The birds are singing and a few stop by the shrubs near my window to give me a song and to bathe in the cascade.<\/p>\n

I like a good rain.<\/p>\n
